Live Arts Media Project Release Party!

The long awaited release party is finally here! Wish I could be in the D to catch it. LAMP has been working hard on this for a long time. For those of you that don’t know, the Live Arts Media Project is a project of Detroit Summer, and was created in response to the crisis in the Detroit Public School system. They have been conducting interviews and editing tracks over the past year, putting youth voices and visions at the heart of the discussion. According to their Twelve Steps to Illumination Comic, “Not only are we addressing the issues we have in out school system, we are also creating a new model of community education and action.”

LAMP is dope. Check them out at the AMC: at the opening plenary, at the popular education symposium, and in the youth media lab.
